Last Thursday, we saw They Might Be Giants perform at The National. We’ve seen TMBG four or five times, but this concert was especially significant because it was on our four-year wedding anniversary!

They Might Be Giants played the entire Flood album – backwards.

Eric knew all of the lyrics. I knew most of them.

The best parts were when they shot millions of pieces of confetti into the crowd.

It was so mesmerizing!

At one point, the confetti was so thick that we couldn’t see the stage until it settled.

There was so much confetti that some pieces even fell into John Linnell’s coffee, and yet he still drank it!

After the band left the stage, the floor trembled from the crowd stomping and clapping until They Might Be Giants came out for an encore.

In fact, they came out for two encores. And still, most of the audience – including us – remained on the floor, waiting for more, when the house lights came back on.

Those are magical photos of you two — and that confetti! How generous of TMBG to sprinkle something so cool all over your anniversary celebration like that!
