Last Thursday – March 11 – was our wedding anniversary. Eric and I have been married for four years! It was exactly one year ago when I found out that I was pregnant. Two years ago, we were on top of a snowy mountain in Japan. Three years ago, we bought bedroom furniture for our new house and drove it home in the back of my Subaru station wagon. Where will we be next year? I’m hoping it’s in a small town in France with two babies.
On Thursday night, we celebrated our anniversary by going to a They Might Be Giants concert. There was confetti… LOTS of confetti. It was incredible! I’ll post pictures tomorrow. But until then, here are some of my favorite photos of our wedding, four years ago.

We got married at Pocahontas State Park, three miles down a dirt road, in a cozy lodge with hardwood floors, exposed wood beams, and a fireplace.

The weather that day was gorgeous, so we walked through the woods to a creek for some photos.

The photographer told us to pretend that he was a moose.

The Taters played Love Me Tender during the ceremony – just like in Kill Bill – and they played their own music during the reception while everybody danced.

My sister was my maid of honor and Eric’s brother was the best man.

My beautiful cousin, Ashley, was our flower girl.

The guests blew bubbles as we left the reception instead of throwing rice or bird seed or balloons.

After the party, a limousine – my very first ride in one – took us to the airport. We went to Miami and on a cruise in the Caribbean for our honeymoon.

We planned our wedding in less than three months, and it all came together magnificently. My only regret is that it didn’t last longer! While Eric and I rushed to the airport and spent all night on airplanes, our friends and family partied for the rest of the night. Not fair!

Hey Lauren!
I loved this entry. I loved how you celebrated your anniversary by looking back and looking forward! I hope you get your 5th anniversary wish. I can’t wait to see you guys in Boston! It’s nasty nasty weather today…it’s been raining for days. Our apartment is leaking (3 big bowls full of water we have to empty every couple hours…it’s starting to let up now, so we’re happier). Our car is leaking (2-3 inches of water, no joke, in the passenger side…I bailed it out with a big pot.) But you know, it’s Boston. Things like that happen in Boston. I hope it clears up for you when you come! Love, Cat
