Homecoming Weekend

Last week was Homecoming at the high school that my sister attends. My sister is on the dance team, so I went to the football game on Friday to see their float in the Homecoming parade and to watch her dance at half time. The theme for the Homecoming parade was Candyland, so they decorated their float with giant lollipops.

On Saturday, I helped my sister and her friends prepare for the Homecoming dance, then I drove them to a Japanese restaurant for dinner before the dance. While they were at the dance, I baked a tres leches cake with my parents.

When I was fifteen years old – the same age that my sister is now – I had been dating Eric for just over one year. This is a picture that Eric’s mom took before the Homecoming dance that year and it is one of my favorite pictures of us.
